Trail Mix & Fruit Mix

While on a random search for anything edible inside the grocery,  the idea of concocting my own version of trail mix and fruit mix came up. Boredom coupled with tiny pangs of hunger can summon the creative juices to come out sometimes.

1. Trail mix - Wikipedia defines trail mix as a combination of dried fruit, grains, nuts, and sometimes chocolate, developed as a snack food to be taken along on outdoor hikes. I didn't know that trail mix has a nerdy entry in the net until I searched for it.

I just threw these bits and pieces of snacks in one big container, shake with all your might and voila! It's perfect for couch potato moments, a good alternative to popcorn and, best of all, pretty cheap!

Trail mix ingredients: Nagaraya cracker nuts (adobo), Boy Bawang cornick (chili cheese), Growers greaseless peanuts (Oriental), seedless raisins, Nestle corn flakes, Kellogg's Frosties and Milo cereal balls

Can't wait to munch some trail mix

2. Fruit mix - a combination of seedless grapes, Zespri gold and green kiwifruits, pear, green apple and dragon fruit or pitaya. My own version, that is. Imagine all the dietary fibers and Vitamin C  and other nutrients swimming inside your body once you consumed a big bowl of this.

Spell HEALTHY.

Trivia: One serving of Zespri kiwifruit has all the potassium of a banana, the vitamin C of two oranges, the nutrients of a whole mango, as much fiber as a bowl of cereals, and yet just a few calories.

Amen to a healthy snack
