I've heard of this Japanese snack a couple of years ago but I never had the chance to try it though. Then a quick visit at the grocery store satisfied my curious foodie self. Of course, I immediately grabbed a box of mochi choco ball with strawberry filling.
For mochi virgins like me, mochi is a Japanese rice cake made of glutinous rice pounded into paste and molded into shape, and it is a traditional food for the Japanese New Year. I also learned that palitaw is our country's counterpart of mochi. It's chewy but not heavy after all. Wow, something new.
Just one bite and I'm now a mochi fan!
